There are no good events without volunteers. There are no good volunteers without a volunteer culture.

The aim of Sport-Önként Association is to shape, develop and improve the volunteer culture in Hungary. The association's leaders believe that by having volunteers returning again and again, they can create a great atmosphere, a well-functioning, mutually supportive community that can improve human relations and build bridges between generations. In addition, these communities are gathering more and more knowledge and experience in event management, so working as a team, they can be of much greater help to the organisers.

Many people say: Work for free? No! But volunteers say: Work for enjoyment? Yes!

The time spent working at a world championship or event is a treasure trove of unforgettable moments, everlasting friendships and mutual knowledge exchange. People who put on their volunteer t-shirts, bring different knowledge, experience, emotions and social behaviours, then combine them for a common goal.

University students, college students, retirees, engineers, lawyers, marketing and communications professionals, teachers, coaches, entrepreneurs, hospitality workers, travellers, high school students, journalists, interns, doctors, nurses, insurance agents, accountants, event organisers and many more are all in uniform. Different at first glance, yet alike in some ways. They all have the desire to help with their work, while they themselves are gaining experiences, knowledge, opportunities and connections.

Volunteers are the largest group of participants in the events. They are the largest part of human resources and they can move mountains if they are motivated, respected and enthusiastic. Their motivation is individual, but their purpose is common.

At an event, volunteers act as an interface between organisers, athletes and fans.

By volunteering with Sport-Önként, you can see behind the scenes, learn about the running of a sporting event, try your skills in different areas, gain useful experience and meet interesting people.

By registering as a Sport-Önként volunteer, you can sign up for all our events. No need to fill out application forms over and over again, your registration makes it easy to apply. You can try your skills in different areas, progressively move up the ladder and, last but not least, become part of a community.

If an event isn't your interest, just don't deal with it, but if you come to smaller events, you'll have a head start in the selection of the team for a major world event.
