{"id":6381,"date":"2025-06-18T10:33:22","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T09:33:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/?p=6381"},"modified":"2025-06-18T11:10:02","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T10:10:02","slug":"volunteer-t-shirts-for-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/en\/volunteer-t-shirts-for-charity\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteer T-shirts for charity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>P\u00e9ter M\u00e1rk is a volunteer for a long time both for Sport-\u00d6nk\u00e9nt and the Museum of Fine Arts, and over the past few years, he has also participated in various other events. It\u2019s no surprise that he was the initiator and driving force behind the T-shirt donation campaign organized for the M\u00e1ltai Szeretetszolg\u00e1lat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00e9ter retired in 2008, and after a while, the calm of home life no longer satisfied him. Encouraged partially by his family, he signed up as a volunteer for the 2017 FINA World Championships. <em>&#8220;At first, I thought I wouldn\u2019t be selected because of my age, but I ended up being part of the team for three weeks. I became so enthusiastic that I immediately started looking for new opportunities, which led me to the Museum of Fine Arts and Sport-\u00d6nk\u00e9nt. Since then, I\u2019ve worked with numerous organizations and events \u2013 volunteering has truly become an addiction.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/3-17-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6378\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/3-17-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/3-17-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/3-17-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/3-17-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/3-17.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00e9ter has had many different volunteer roles, but one of his favorites has been working in the VIP section, where he has worked multiple times as part of the organizing committee for major international events. <em>&#8220;I graduated with a degree in foreign commerce, and international work was always close to me throughout my professional life. Interacting and dealing with leaders was an essential part of my job, so this area felt very familiar. It\u2019s a great feeling to be able to use those experiences at various events.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2-22-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2-22-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2-22-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2-22-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2-22-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/sportonkent.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2-22.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After so many events, it\u2019s no wonder that P\u00e9ter had collected more volunteer T-shirts than he could store at home.<em> &#8220;I\u2019ve been part of the team at 47 major international events, all associated with amazing memories. But the growing number of T-shirts became unmanageable. That\u2019s why I reached out to the M\u00e1ltai Szeretetszolg\u00e1lat, among others, who were happy to accept the donation. It took a lot of coordination \u2013 I stayed in touch with the leaders of Sport-\u00d6nk\u00e9nt and the <em>M\u00e1ltai Szeretetszolg\u00e1lat<\/em>. In the end, many volunteers brought their still-good but no-longer-needed shirts to this year\u2019s Final 4.
